Backup safety is the term used to describe backup cameras and parking sensor systems. Nu Image Audio has been specializing in these categories since our inception in 2008. Adding one or both of these technologies to your vehicle can benefit you in the following ways:
- Help you not to back into objects that can cause costly damage to your vehicle.
- Make you a more confident, focused driver
- Help eliminate blind spots.
- Most importantly, help you not to back over children or loved ones, which can result in serious injury or even death.
Backup cameras can be integrated into your vehicle in several different ways. If you are fortunate enough to have a color screen in your dash, we may have the option of using it to display the image from your camera.
Replacement rear view mirrors are another popular option for displaying the backup camera image. We replace your existing mirror with a new one that has an embedded color display that, under normal conditions, is invisible. When you put the vehicle in reverse, the display comes to life, letting you safely see behind you. Multiple options are available, including different screen sizes, auto dimming displays, and integrated compass and outside temperature readout.
If your vehicle is lacking in technology, we can often replace the existing car stereo in your dash with a new unit that comes with a color touchscreen display. Not only will you gain a backup camera, but you also can pick up options like Bluetooth and smartphone integration.
Our final option is a standalone monitor. We have them in multiple styles and configurations. If the need arises, our team can even fabricate a custom mount to properly hold the screen in its optimum position. This option is very popular for people with commercial vehicles.
Backup cameras come in many different configurations, with the major difference being in how they are mounted. We have models that fit on the license plate, the rear trunk lip, inside the tailgate handle of a truck or into the third brake light. Once we see your vehicle and understand how you use it, we will suggest solutions that best fit your needs.
If you own a trailer and would love to have the benefit of a backup camera for it, we have you covered. Our systems are designed with weather resistant, quick release connectors to make hooking and unhooking them a snap.
For the ultimate in safety and protection, we offer front cameras to protect your bumper from damage and side view cameras to help eliminate blind spots while driving.
A parking sensors is a small device, about the size of a quarter, that gets mounted on the bumper of your vehicle. They work by emitting ultrasonic waves that detect objects behind you. They are activated when you place the vehicle in reverse and will make one beep to alert you that they are working. When you are approximately 6 feet away from an object, you will hear a slow beep from the hidden speaker we will mount in your vehicle. At around 2 to 3 feet away, the sound increases to a fast beep. Finally, at around 12 to 18 inches away, it moves to a solid beep.
One of the things we like most about parking sensors is their ability to work well even when it is very dark outside or in inclement weather. For the ultimate in safety, we suggest combining parking sensors with a backup camera system.
All of our installation work is guaranteed to you for the life of the vehicle. In the rare event of a product failure, we facilitate the warranty for you with the vendor.
