When clients come to Nu Image Audio for a remote car starter, we often hear that they don’t want a remote hanging from their keychains. This is particularly common with clients who have keyless entry systems or factory keys with remotes built into the head of the key. We are glad that our clients are willing to tell us what they want – that way, we can fulfill their requests. This article talks about factory-style remote car starters.
What is ‘Factory Style’?
Thankfully, Factory Style doesn’t refer to the latest dance craze from South Korea’s Psy. What we are talking about is a factory-installed remote starter. If you have a factory-installed starter, there will be a button on your remote to start your car. How do we start your car with your factory remote if you don’t have a Start button? We use the Lock button. Pressing the Lock button three times in quick succession will tell the remote starter system that you want to start the vehicle.
Full-featured Performance
The starter system we install in these factory-style applications is as complete and powerful as one with a dedicated remote control. The system monitors the engine to make sure it has started. We can hook up door lock control. We can add a shock sensor and a siren for security features. We can even add a temperature sensor to activate your rear window defroster. The only difference is in how you control the system.
Remote Car Starter Remote Range Options
Factory-style remote starters don’t have a lot of range. The range is the distance between the vehicle and the remote. Most factory remotes only work from up to a few hundred feet. Aftermarket remotes can work from a mile away or more. In fact, with a cellular-based system like DroneMobile, you could be on a beach in Mexico or a ski hill in Canada and still have full control over your vehicle. If you live in a large apartment building, work in an office building or park underground and want to be able to control your remote starter, let us know. We can add a remote control for longer range at any time.
